Abstract

"In this study we examined the effects of exposure to an increased rate of training sessions on response acquisition. Three participants were selected based on lack of progress on identified skill acquisition programs. In the low-exposure condition, the weekly frequency of conducted sessions ranged from 2-4 times per week. This frequency was determined for each program by calculating the average number of sessions conducted each week for one month prior to participation in this study. Low-exposure sessions were conducted until results indicated that increases in independent and correct responding had not occurred across several sessions. In the high-exposure condition, sessions were conducted multiple times over the course of 1 hour, 5 days a week. Results suggest that increasing the rate of training sessions facilitated response acquisition."
