Abstract

"Individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder may have difficulty accurately reporting past events. Conceptualizing remembering as a form of precurrent behavior, we developed a training package to increase the number of accurate tacts in the absence of the image being tacted. Following the training procedure, both participants more accurately identified stimuli seen in the previously shown images at short delays (1-30 min) and longer delays (1-2.5 hr). Our findings support the use of visual imagining as a problem solving strategy to improve remembering is behavior that can be improved."
