Abstract

"The purpose of this study was to train parents using video modeling to provide opportunities to expand their children’s play and functional communication. Participants include 3 parents and their children who were diagnosed with autism and enrolled in a Home-Based Program. The treatment package included both written instructions and video modeling with voice over narration plus feedback. Across participants a non-concurrent multiple baseline design was implemented. Results of this study indicated that all parents were able to perform the targeted behaviors using video modeling plus feedback. Some of the children demonstrated increased complexity in play and language post treatment. Limitations and implications for future research are discussed."
